Councillor Visits

Madani Schools Federation were blessed with a week of councillor visits to meet with our learners and staff.

Councillors Mohammed Dawood, Sue Waddington, Abdul Osman and Patrick Kitterick met with students in Year 10 and 11 across both schools to support our Citizenship curriculum. The topics covered included homelessness, voting at 16, animal rights, youth unemployment and many others. Questions were asked on their views on each of the issues and students were appreciative of the opportunity to liaise with people in power within our city. Cllr Vi Dempster met with our student council representatives from both schools to discuss a range of topic areas and discussed possible future projects. The week ended with Cllr Ted Cassidy hosting an assembly with our Year 7 and 8 boys regarding his role, how the council works and details on how the election system works.

The students and staff were very grateful for the contribution made by the councillors and hope to welcome them again very soon.
