Member of Parliaments 6 - 2016

MP6 (Member of Parliaments 6) is a public speaking competition which encourages students aged 11-16 to take part in public speaking activities. Students speak on a current political issue for 90 seconds and then answer 3 questions.

It is vital that young people are given a platform to talk about the issues that matter to them and have key decision makers listen and respond to their voice.

4 students from Madani Boys School and 1 students from Madani Girls School entered at the semi-final stage on Friday 25th March at the City Hall. All 4 students were confident and spoke passionately about the issues that concerned them.

1 student was selected from each school and therefore Mohummud Kaasim and Aamena Patel will be representing Madani Schools Federation in the final on Friday 24th June.

The students spoke about the following:

Mohummud Kaasim – Vote at 16

Albara Mohamed – Staying in the EU

Yahya Mohamud – Freedom of Choice in School

Musa Nasser – Transport and Pollution

Aamena Patel – Are we the same as everybody else?
