Girls School Awards Evening

Madani Girls School Awards Evening - Thursday 13th October 2016

On Thursday 13thOctober, Madani Girls School held their annualawardsevening for 2015/16. The event celebrated the academic achievements across subject areas of students from all year groups including those who have moved on earlier this year. The evening commenced with a Year 8 pupil reciting a passage from the Holy Quran.

We were privileged to have Dr Rajnaara Akhtar as our guest speaker for the night. Rajnaara received her PhD from the University of Warwick in 2013, where she continued as a part-time lecturer before joining Leicester De Montfort University Law School in February 2016. Her research focussed on Legal pluralism, dispute resolution and Muslim Family Law.

It was exciting to hear about the achievements of last year's Year 11 students, all of whom achieved all A*-B grades in their GCSEs, as they were presented with their trophies. A special non-subject relatedawardswas presented on the night. An award was given for 'Islamic Character' to honour an excellent role model who has demonstrated her commitment and dedication through her outstanding character.

Overall, a very 'stunning' and 'beautiful' evening shared by staff, parents, governors, community leaders but most importantly, our students.
